Obama Got the Corned Beef

CHICAGO (AP) - Manny's deli is a popular hangout for Chicago politicians. But it's not every day that the president-elect stops by.

Barack Obama was there with an adviser today, to pick up sandwiches to go.

He signed a picture for the owner, and remarked, "I've aged a little bit."

Obama wasn't talking about much besides lunch today. When he was asked what he thinks about the auto industry, he said only, "I got the corned beef."

Oh, I can just hear the howls from the likes of Tweety and David Shuster, who couldn't believe it when Obama had orange juice with a campaign breakfast stop. We all know that good Americans would only have the turkey on rye. Corned beef is just so out of touch with mainstream America! By all that is good and holy still left in the world, this man Obama must, must be stopped!

that media talking heads were tut-tutting about how he lacked the crucial "common touch" to win the blue-collar vote, because he did unacceptable things at diners, like ordering orange juice instead of coffee and asking for his pancakes "to go"...?
