I have to get use to a President who's smarter than me.
After eight years of being smarter than the President, and quite frankly, most of the Administration. I now have to realize that the new President is smarter than me.
Over the last eight years when I looked at things like the massive tax cut, the support of Israel going into Lebanon, IRAQ!!!, Guantanamo and on ad absurdiam. I was usually right and the Clown Prince was obviously wrong,at least to me and I would say most here.
But now, while I do second guess Obama on things like Hilary for State or the big bailout. I also realize that he is smarter than I am. (I may not be a genius, but I'm pretty smart).
So while it's my given right as a Democrat to gripe about my leaders :7 I have to remember that President Obama (love typing that) knows what he's doing and may just be smarter than me.

6. Used to know a guy up north here who bought white sheets for 10 bucks a dozen ...
... then he would cut eye holes in them and take them down south every year on his vacation and sell them for $30 dollars a sheet as official Grand Wizard KKK regalia.

8. I truly don't "get"
why a good number of DUers 1. Think that Obama is smarter than they are, and 2. Think it's a good thing.

Oh, and 3.: That somehow "smart" people are automatically principled, have integrity, and have the greater good in mind.

Is that what Democrats really want? Someone to decide everything for them, someone they can "trust" to be "smarter" so that they can go forward with their daily lives without having to exercise their minds? Just defer to the "smarter" leader, and automatically assume that whatever that leader does is "right," because he's so much "smarter?"

No need for critical thinking, I guess. Sounds like abdication to me.

10. No, I don't jump to conclusions much.
I read, I think, and I notice patterns.

Sometimes I comment on them.

Sometimes I respond to what I read.

What about you?

Post responses devoid of conversation, containing nothing but a few misused words much?

12. That's fine.
I wonder, of course, why you bothered to respond at all, if you weren't interested.

Just littering as you pass by, I guess.

13. Well
I guess your critical thinking failed you when you read my post. Because you completely misread or didn't understand what I was saying. Try again, and think rationally, maybe you'll get it.

What, exactly, makes you think Obama is smarter than you are?

16. Well, Bill Clinton...
Edited on Sat Nov-22-08 01:12 PM by upi402
You seem to be right, given Obama's Clinton corporatist retreads.
Look at Bill Clinton for example, he did great damage to working and middle class families and set in concrete the corporatization of our anti-democracy propaganda media.

He was a Rhode's Scholar and charismatic... but that doesn't mean all smart folks have our best interest at heart.

(kinda sorta like Ted Bundy, smart, good looking, good line of BS, charasmatic, but not really your good buddy afterall)

17. You got that.
"Smart" used against the common good is not something to be grateful for.
