Poll question: How many of you are some kind of community organizer?
I'm interested to find out how many of you do some kind of work -- paid or volunteer -- that could be construed as community organization. Please, share your stories and how you participate. Thanks!

1. Other: I'm a Mom and
organized a bunch of new voters to vote.

I volunteer for local and national campaigns, ie. phone banking, meetings, etc.

I'm not a community organizer in the sense you are talking about.

I just talk to people, in person, on the net, on the phone. ;)

3. I think that's what I'm talking about!

I think that should definitely be included in the broader sense of community organization. :hi:

Edit - although I have no idea what to call it, maybe "the glue" would be a good title, haha.

4. I am a worker bee
Stuffing envelopes? Knocking on doors? Database entry? Writing press releases? Call me.

Sitting in a room with 30 other people for months on end, and chattering away about what we might do here and might do there - oh my god no. All hail to those who can do it.

9. I don't know if this is considered "community organization:...
but I am in charge of our church's "Religious Liberty" affairs...we are firm supporters of Church/State separation, and view the involvemnt of religion with government as dangerous to the freedom of both.

10. Active on three campaigns at one time (this past
election), the rest of the time I do anything for the Democrats - registering voters, fair duty, show up at meetings, promote democratic views.
