GOPers in Minnesota now trying to invalidate all split ticket votes
Coleman is now challenging ballots that were clearly marked for McCain for president and Franken for Senate--because anybody who voted McCain HAD to have meant to vote for Coleman!!!

That's right folks. If you live in Minnesota and voted for John McCain, according to Norm Coleman, there is no way you could have voted for Al Franken. Your ballot is now jeopardized!

All the wingnut blogs have been spewing hatred at Franken incorrectly say that Franken is using every dirty trick in the book to win this recount. There they go again, GOPers projecting their sins on others.

1. Well, if you voted for Franken AND McCain, you're probably too fucking stupid to live
but according to the Constitution, you're not too stupid to vote. And Norm Coleman is just a fucking dumbass in either case.

2. Franken is making an assload of ridiculous challenges, too.
Edited on Sun Nov-23-08 04:40 PM by Occam Bandage

Here's one Franken is challenging because the guy smudged some ink with his thumb, and the Franken campaign says that a thumbprint is equivalent to a signature, and invalidates that ballot.

Here's one Franken is challenging, saying the eraser marks on the Franken circle are proof that the voter intended to vote for Al Franken instead of Dean Barkley. Which makes no sense whatsoever.

Both campaigns have made thousands of challenges. In both, you'll find a bunch of terrible reasoning.

3. This isn't rocket science, if the ballot is clearly marked count it, otherwise
Throw it out

I used to have a lot of respect for Minnesota, but after Ventura I had to wonder

4. I think most of Franken's challenges are reasonable
and will win maybe 75 or 80% of the challenge.

Coleman's challenge are so stupid and asnine, that he will not win the challenges, I would say about 75% of the ballots, he'll win 15-25% of the challenged ballots.

5. So sorry you feel GOPers are the victims here
When Dems see GOPers piling up challenge after challenge after challenge, the Dems know they have to start piling up the challenges also. But of course in your view GOPers are the victims. Dems are the ones at fault.

6. I don't. I think both campaigns are doing whatever they can to win.
There's no such thing as "victims" in a late-stage race like this. There are winners and there are losers. I hope we're the winners.

9. He's obviously wrong about those two
but it's stupid to say no one would split their ticket. Lots of people do.

10. Coleman's campaign is being stupid.
However, a stupid challenge is not worth the hysterics of the OP.

8. Oh for pete's sake, it's nothing to get hysterical about.
If a ballot is clearly marked, the Canvassing Board will count it. That's the law.

11. Franken should agree. Split ticket votes should be invalidated.
What was Obama's margin of victory in Minnesota again?
