Poll question: If you could have one post in the government, what would it be?
Instead of talking about other people all the time, let's talk about ourselves. If you could have one position in the government, what would you pick?

... aka Queen of Everyt'ing, Goddess of The Well-Deserved Smack-Down, Enforcer of STFU (And I DO mean YOU), Runner of the Universe, Ultimate Planner of the Planet - and Beyond.

... and a few other positions I'd like to ponder overnight, thank you very much.

I adore Obama, so I'll let him have his say - once in a while, when I'm of a mood to listen.

Oh, yeah - and the Empress of Incredible Humility. (Always forget that one).

I actually thought of the Housing and Urban Development Dept.

I am currently On Section 8 and would like to figure out more ways to help people who need housing... I live in a town that has a huge transient and seasonal population...many can't simply Move somewhere better, because the costs of moving become prohibitive.

and yet there are NO homeless shelters.
Plenty of churchs give food cards, one even has bread & broth every monday... but no hotel vouchers or warm & safe place for people who have no other options...and if I did not have help with MY OWN rent, we would be living in our car too in sub freezing temps...

I may not know much about budgets and the rest, but I know that certain things are imperative,
and we as a people have to help those who are struggling to survive in our own backyard.

Seriously, something that I would be 'great' at and could perhaps qualify for....I'd be great at heading an "after school program" for kids. A Little snack, a little down time, a little tell-me-what's-troublin'-you-today, you did GREAT job on "x", now how can I help you with your homework, and how to handle your "best friend" being a 'two-face'..... THOSE are among the things that kids need guidance in handling/doing "after school".

edit: corrected typo

We should legalize all drugs and stop this incredible waste of resources, e.g., prosecution, incarceration, etc.

:hi:

I would certainly decriminalize all drug usage, and make cannabis, mushrooms, and peyote completely legal (as well as other plants used in traditional ceremonies and rites).

29. Secretary of Energy or Defense Secretary
Would prefer Defense. Then I can get our guys out of Iraq and focus the US military on stuff closer to home - stopping drug traffickers, for example, and giving our guys in the armed forces the best gear possible, so that if they have to go back into a war zone, they can do the job with the fewest losses possible.

Energy would be good too, because I know what to do there.

That's what I do. That's who I am.

I like advising principals, whether they're in business, politics, or charities.

I'm not an executive type. I'm not an officer to run mass numbers of people. I'm the guy who helps you figure out how to achieve your goals. I can advise that CEO, that Chair, that trustee, that politician.

I think that could be a really good, really interesting, and potentially revolutionary position. Just would have to do the politicking to get the funding that would churn the waters.

That would be a great job.
