My apologies for the glitchy, botchy, insulting post I made on Friday night.
Aside from the nonsensical tone of the post because of terrible grammar and shitty spelling, I am mostly sorry for issuing a blanket condemnation of this board as a whole. I'm sorry for that.

It's been so frustrating watching everyone tear into each other since the election and I was trying to say that we seem to function better as an online society when we have an outside threat, rather than when we are the ones in power.

It was a totally botched post and it confused the crap out of everyone, and made all kinds of people mad. And no one was shy about laying into me. So that's fine. I deserved it.

Sure got a lot of hits though. More than my normal ones do, by far. I'd rather not link to it because it has finally sunk many pages deep into the abyss. The irony is that some responders actually tried to make a little sense of it.

Guess I could've started from scratch with a new user name, but I figured I'd just fess up to my mistake. And for those who can see this (I'm sure I was put on ignore by many), then I really am sorry I did what I did. Couldn't even edit the bastard like I wanted.

As someone recently said, "That was some unpreparedness".

I'm not even that prolific a poster here, but I figured I still owed this to you all. I respect many of you people very much.

Again, sorry... lo ciento... peace.

6. I found the original thread
and I understood what you were saying just fine. I also enjoyed the replies that ensued - DU's response to confusion is one of my favorite forms of entertainment.

7. I don't know if I saw the post, but I agree with your assessment:
It's been so frustrating watching everyone tear into each other since the election and I was trying to say that we seem to function better as an online society when we have an outside threat, rather than when we are the ones in power.

Posters have been in the attack mode for so many years that many appear to be stuck there, even when we control the White House and Congress.

8. It's like the battered wife syndrome or PTSD
It takes a while to begin to trust politicians after the incredible abuse we've been suffering for 8 years. and in the case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorger, it takes a long time before every loud noise stops being bombs and bullets. It's difficult to get used to being under new management.

Things will calm down when people realize this isn't a carbon copy of the Bush Error. Even a few very targeted policies like taking real steps to restore the Constitution and shutting down Guantanamo will make us start to relax.

9. "Sure got a lot of hits though." Yes, negativity always does.
Post something nice, and it most likely is ignored.

Post a request to do something about poverty, and it will DEFINITELY be ignored.

If you want lots of replies, post something snarky.

Wins everytime.
