GM and Tiger Woods end endorsement agreement after 9 years
By Sue Chang

SAN FRANCISCO--(GM 3.18, +0.12, +3.9%) said Monday that its endorsement deal with golfer Tiger Woods will end on Dec. 31. "Both GM and Woods agreed to a mutual and amicable separation that included a desire for more personal time for the 14-time major winner who is expecting his second child in late winter as well as the search for budget efficiencies during a difficult economy for General Motors," said GM in a statement. Woods had endorsed GM products for the last 9 years. The company noted that discussions had started earlier in the year and the timing of the decision is "coincidental."

2. What about his gig with Accenture?
Is he still pimping for offshore mailbox tax dodgers who's "number one priority is outsourcing American jobs?"

8. My grandparents drove an Oldsmobile.
So when I was a little kid, I thought they were called that because they were especially for old people.

7. Good. It was a dumb move to hire him in the first place
I think celebrity endorsements have little impact on purchases as expensive as a car. A celebrity might be able to get people to buy a shirt, perfume, or get them to go to a new club. When comes to spending thousands of dollars, I doubt someone who buy something just because Tiger Woods is in the commercials for that product.
