A Risk Worth Taking: Daniel Gross's Newsweek Article Blasts The Right Wing Lies (W/ Audio Interview)
Daniel Gross of Newsweek had done some brilliant reporting on the subprime/financial collapse issue. He wrote about it back in October in his piece : The right blames the credit crisis on poor minority homeowners. This is not merely offensive, but entirely wrong.

Now he's back it again in the new edition of Newsweek with his article : Many ethical subprime lenders still manage to make plenty of money.

Both of these articles provide important ammunition to shoot down the conservative talking points and I can't recommend them enough. Even if you just skim them for some of the statistics they're worth checking out.

Finally, . If you're too lazy to read or you find this topic interesting, don't miss it (and hey, it's only about 10 minutes long). NOTE: It's not a youtube clip, it'll most likely open up in Windows Media Player or Quicktime depending your set-up.

PS---In the second half of this youtube clip, and why we need to do something about it.

Also, he's not happy with the idea that or the fact that

2. K&R. I've had countless arguments with an ass at work who blames it all on
home owners. (Side note, he's a prick in every way though.)

4. Windsock syndrome.
People chance their views depending on which way the wind is blowing. This 'I was for torture before I was against it' bears watching.

I'm not going to second-guess Mr. Obama on this one but it does make me wonder what the dynamics of this choice were and are.

10. Excellent articles,IHNB.

Daniel Gross clearly sees the cause and effect of subprime lending- market crash
and places the blame where it belongs, on unethical, predatory lenders.

21. Thanks for the info
The question is of course, does the torture aspect disqualify him. Does it trump his experience (because I can only assume there are other people just as experienced who don't share the torture aspect).

Too bad. I was hoping to have him reveal some juicy tidbits during his confirmation hearing.

See, now you will never know.
