I was watching Cavuto .. and this guy said that the UAW decides which cars are made |
|
at which plants that its in their contracts except in California. I know, Cauvto but I just flipped through the channels and caught it. I don't know who the old fart he was talking to but he was 'an expert'.

3. They must just make this shit up as they go along |
|
The people on the line at Toyota have more control over production than any other car manufacture. Some Japanese invented corporate "lean" program.
These fuckers don't have a clue.

6. Yup. That's why ALL cars are made in factories in the U.S. and none elsewhere. |
|
It's also why UAW workers are never laid off and have $100/hour salaries and all automobile plants are unionized.
And the moon is made of green cheese and the stork brings babies.
Cavuto is a fucking liar.

8. A product line is 'born' in Research and Development. |
|
And R&D is strictly a "company" operation.

Less than a quarter of designs make it into production. All production platforms approved by the Board of Directors are then developed for production.
I worked at GM Design for 30 years.

10. Not only do the unions tell GM what to build, they also tell GM who to hire |
|
and where that new hiree will work. Management has no say in how the company is run, its all decided by the line worker and the union steward.
Funny how I came from a second generation GM family, Gramps started in the late 30's, then 3 of his sons started working for GM in the 50's and 60's. I have seen and heard every GM contract from the 1960's until dad retired in the 90's when GM sold the plant he worked in to Delphi. Yet I know nothing about GM, unions, contracts and workers. But someone who neither worked in GM or had family in GM knows for a fact that the above is true, the union and workers decide how GM runs not management.
