They want the UAW raked over the coals as the CEO's of the auto companies were. HOWEVER!! Did anyone see the CEOs of the banks and financial companies even get dragged gently over the coals? They have some damn nerve to give that money to Citigroup, AIG, Bank America, etc etc..WITH NO CONDITIONS or demands of accountability...and then go on about the giveaways to the UNIONS!!

IF THIS AIN'T UNION BUSTING, MY NAME IS DAISY MAE!!!

EDIT; It was on Hardball, not Countdown.

1. All because some union retirees get good medical care
And we certainly can't have that.

4. Just disgusting. I'm glad one of the guys did carry water for the union members!
He reminded everyone that the union people were the line people on the job, the regular guys and women, not some high paid upper level person, in the bail out.

As long as we frame this as the average working person we're in good shape. The RW has tried for too long to paint the union as BIG and BAD. Nobody but hard core Freepers believe that any more...

5. How dare they have decent benefits?
Seriously, what the hell? If this gets out, if people learn that if they organize and stand together they can have a good job with decent benefits and lifetime security,

GODDAMNIT EVERYONE WILL DEMAND THIS NONSENSE

7. It's ALWAYS been about union-busting ... grrrrrr ...
Edited on Mon Nov-24-08 07:47 PM by LSparkle
Why should current retirees -- workers who were on the
line while the Big Three were still MAKING MONEY -- have
their benefits taken away just because some dumbasses
in management came along and ran the companies into
the ditch? The talk of "legacy costs" and blaming
people who put their heart, soul and sweat into those
companies for being treated TOO WELL in their golden
years makes me want to fucking PUKE ...

The banks and the repukes are pulling one of the biggest con games in the history of the world.

They are trying to make sure that there is NO money left to finance any of the programs that the Obama admin
promised they would enact.

19. Exactly! Break backs of workers to keep rewarding Wall St./Hedge Funds and Traders!
The whole thing is Bush's "Get Away" leaving little to nothing to anyone who isn't in "His Crowd of Cronies!"

11. And they're wrong about anything being "given" to unions
As if it was out of the goodness of the companies' hearts. Unions fought nail and teeth for every benefit and inch of progress!

13. Ed Schultz was all over this today. Here is his site.......
http://www.bigeddieradio.com/

Ed Says: Where is the Action?

We know more job losses are coming. We know this will get worse before it gets better.

The failure to move on this auto assistance package now sets the table for the market to fall further. It will go below 6,000, mark my words.

So, where is the action? Can't the Congress deliver some kind of incentive package for the consumers..
