2. Class warfare began before history and has never come close to ending |

The only ones who don't want to talk about it are the ones who are benefiting hugely from it.

18. there is another group |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 12:12 AM by Two Americas
There is another group, who benefit only in relatively small ways, but who in exchange for some status and security, and the vicarious pleasure of identifying emotionally with the winners, promote the interests of the wealthiest 1% in the country consistently and relentlessly. Unfortunately, they dominate and control the discussion in the party. This is the source of much of the division and contention within the party, and the reason that it is so difficult to establish an effective united front against the political right wing. As the general public moves dramatically to the Left, they are now fighting a frantic and desperate rear guard action and attacking anyone expressing any hint of economic populism or left wing political ideas.

6. Depends on the form of government and which side you are on. |

CW sucks if you are poor in an aristocracy, but sucks if you are rich in a democracy.

The class that most of are not in has been winning for far too long. It's time that we who are in the class that has been losing take it to them!

Good economic policy benefits everyone.
When you start trying to have policies that favor one class or another, it is going to create problems down the road.

Class warfare is being waged with relentless intensity every moment of every day.
As to whether folks acknowledge this or not can depend on how deeply they are physically/ideologically invested in the status quo.
And of course it's being waged against us. Nonstop.
