Luke Russert coming up on Morning Joe.. I saw him on a "date" yesterday. . |
|
I don't remmeber what time it was, I had MSNBC on in the background when I saw him
interviewing the new, youngest, Republican representative
There was the air of a "first date" about it that creeped me out.

1. why are they still employing Luke Russert? I mean, really? |
|
Though, I guess that question could apply to many at MSNBC.

2. I really think they have |

genuine affection for him. They really loved his Dad. Everything's a family business when it comes down to it.
That said, there was an "isn't that cute" vibe around the newsroom before and after the interview....

3. He does seem like a "nice kid" but that doesn't mean that |

he deserves to waltz right in to a prime spot.
Mourning Joe is a perfect example.
Why is he still on ~ what does he have on them that qualifies him to be on the air?
Is his father loved and adored by MSNBC too? What are his connections?
He is talentless, IMO.

4. There is something about the entire Luke Russert promotion |
|
that bothers me as well. I can understand fondness for him and a need to try to make him an extension of his Dad. He may even have some broadcasting talent (though it is not yet apparent to me). But, why do they so need to make him a young Republican. I know his Dad had conservative leanings, but geebus, in this climate is there any way to make him LESS cool? Plus his take on the youth angle has the feel of the "Dungeons & Dragons geek," interviewing and trying to explain the "cool kids."
