How about making our own "Thank You, Sarah Palin" videos?
Take a look at Hissyspit's post first:

MSNBC: PAC Spends 1,000s to Praise Palin, Smear Obama - DU Mentioned

There is a well-spring of creative talent within the DU group. Why couldn't someone make a video (or several) wherein:

1) Ordinary folks are filmed saying, "As a Democrat (Progressive, Liberal, whatever), I want to thank you, Sarah Palin, for bringing my party together for the first time in..."

2) Young people are filmed saying, "As a young person, I want to thank Sarah Palin for giving me the opportunity of involving myself in the fight against right-wing, conservative brainwashing..."

3) Educators could appear in a variety of vignettes stating, "As an educator, I want to thank Sarah Palin for providing me the forum for dispelling the idiocy of psuedoscience and creationism..."

4) Liberal religious leaders might be shown saying, "I want to thank Mark Williams and Our Country Deserves Better PAC for showing themselves as examples of the hatred and cynicism that the right-wing conservatives have used for years to..."

And, many of us could do as we've done all along ~ scratch up $10.00, $20.00, $30.00 or so to join the fight against the challenges that the hateful, devisive right-wingers have posed to impede the changes that are vital to our Country. We could do that, couldn't we? Our name has been called; perhaps it is time to stand up again...and again...and again!

1. My only argument against: Remember "Thank you, Micheal Moore?"
I mean the sarcastic political meme that arose soon after Bush's re-election. For example:

and there were cheezy billboards as well, although I can't find them at the moment.

I'm fine with savoring victory, but organized efforts aimed at rubbing it in? Eh. Not so much.

5. Thanks, bunkerbuster1.
Heh, heh! There's another great idea of mine gone down in vainglorius defeat.

Yet, just before I slink off into tail-tucked oblivion, I can't help but wonder if any of the four good folks that were kind enough to respond to my disaster read Hissyspit's original post. Though I included it in my post, I don't know how to make his post "clickable". Thus, that bit of information could have been easily ignored. (Someone educate me on this, please.)

In any event, my desire wasn't in "savoring victory"; it was to respond to the series of videos that, ostensibly, thank Sarah Palin for a variety of things while promoting anti-Obama propoganda that will be aired by the "Our Country Deserves Better PAC" during the holiday season. Does this information have any effect on your decision?

Over the past eight years, many voices have been raised against Democrats for not facing and challenging dishonest Repug attacks. Now that we have our "man" elected, do we abandon that resolve that was a part of the greatest Presidential campaign of my nearly 70 years?

6. A bit late to reply, but...
Yes, I did see those ghastly "Thanks, Sarah Palin" videos (and they are certainly worthy of parodying!), but no, I had not seen the hissyspit post you refer to.

I'm not sure what you need in order to make a post "clickable," just copy the web address that appears in your browser's window and past it into your own post, like this:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=4532072&mesg_id=4532087

If you want to make a clickable link, the code's in the html lookup table, but I usually don't even bother with that.
