Busholini on Giving Terra Speech rehashing how we killed Saddam's Sons |
|
to save freedom. Got rid of the Brutal Dictator and freed the Iraqi's and smirked as he said "and it was the Screaming Eagles that removed the sons." (...on and on about kill, kill, terra, terra...Iran hostility to US but we are bringing Freedom and Democracy to the Middle East...yadda yadda...the same speech we've heard so many times before.
I guess it's his Thanksgiving Address to the troops. :eyes: I'm sure his Christmas address will be the same.

1. Oh yeah, mindless death and destruction, endless chaos |

Good times. Good times.
I hope Commander Bunnypants still has Saddam's personal pistol. Won't that be a nice centerpiece to his presidemential lieberry?

2. Ya know , maybe it`s just me, but had our great country EVER put up pics of dead people on tv, |
|
before bush? People that "our country" proudly KILLED? I`m not saying these were not bad people, but I never in my 58 years remember seeing such graphic images of a kill.Am I wrong or just overly sensitive? I am so sad for my country, when we are supposed to see such pride in death. Wouldn`t trials have been better? If these people had recieved death from international courts, then so be it. But, to see "our president" brag about KILLING people just seems ssssssoooooo wrong.

...I'm in the same age bracket, and I never saw that done, not official pictures of enemies we had killed, never. And I had the same reaction as you, WTF???
We have become hardened, and the powers that be have done it intentionally IMO. TV is coarser and more violent, movies play to the vulgar, it goes on and on. And of course, "Shock and Awe" which was marketed like an upcoming super-duper fireworks show -- I've said it before and I'll say it again, I have never been more sickened than I was watching those grinning newscasters, practically salivating at the thought of the beginning of that bombardment of Baghdad.
The pictures of Saddam's dead sons was a natural progression.
And we as a people, on the whole, just lapped it up.
Terribly, terribly sad.

6. During the bombing mission, I just couldn`t get my mind to understand |
|
the bloodthirstiness. It was unbelievable to me that this country was supposed to take such joy in killing people. They even gave it a catchty little name, "shock and awe". How many people were KILLED for those tv ratings? All of that for a country that NEVER did anything to this country, in any way.I weep for the country that was before g.w.bush., before we were supposed to cheer when dead people`s pics were supposed to evoke patriotism. Ever notice that the only pics of the dead were totally directed by the w.h.? No pics of ALL the innocents.

11. Agree.....it hit me the same way. Those disgusting photos ...in cartoonish |
|
grizzly display. Our country has become much crueler since that time. I think the Obamas will change that. The tone Bush set along with his policies harmed our country so badly it will take time, but so many are worn down and tired from his lack of compassion and frankly cruel frat boy or psychopathic behavior.
