5. Yep.
I don't know if we'll win or lose, but it sure looks like a clean, transparent process. I'll take that, after the last few cycles of fraud and opacity.

6. Agreed
I'm just amazed and very happy that the votes are being counted. If Normie the weasel wins, I will say damn, but congratulate him on winning. I will also be disapointed. I'm sure that Al will react the same way, in spite of what the wingnuts say.

14. Normie and other Republicans did what they could to throw a cloud over the recount
before it started though they seemed to have toned it down since the counting began.

A clever LTTE to the Star Tribune asked if Normie wins the recount, will he accept the results as he has tried to make the process sound iffy.

10. according to that site Coleman is up +221 and Franken up +225
Franken has a net gain of 4 votes so far without counting contested ballots.

2. Not much...
Coleman still leads by about 200 votes as of yesterday's count.

Both sides have challenged about 1400 ballots each.

The basic recount won't be finished before Thanksgiving, so...

Bottom line is that Minnesota's elections are pretty clean and the count may well not change enough to change the result, as much as I wish it would.

4. In Mid December, after the canvassing board meets, we will know.
Until then, we have no clue.

This race will be decided based on the challenges.

7. I read something on Huffpo this morning that both sides are asking for
an investigation into some missing votes. Apparently the recount has produced fewer overall votes than the original election in some areas. I tried to find it again but I don't see it posted anymore.

11. Franken losing ground to Coleman on DFL turf - Minneapolis
By Jason Hoppin, twincities.com

As Minnesota's recount in the U.S. Senate race marches on, campaign operatives have focused on the color of the ballots being counted.

Are the piles of recounted ballots from red counties, where Republican Sen. Norm Colman might be expected to pick up a few stray votes? Or blue counties, where DFL challenger Al Franken might have the advantage?

But Minneapolis — the biggest, bluest pile of all — is turning that logic on its head. With nearly half of its ballots recounted, the city Franken calls home isn't doing the candidate any favors. And that could be dimming Franken's hopes of catching Coleman before the state canvassing board meets Dec. 16.

"Things are clearly moving in the wrong direction for Franken," said Larry Jacobs, director of the University of Minnesota's Center for the Study of Politics and Governance. With fewer than half of the ballots counted in Minneapolis, Franken has lost 86 votes, while Coleman has lost just 37. In other words, the city could be blunting any recount advantage Franken might have in the rest of the state as the recount rolls toward its Dec. 5 deadline.

13. A lot of it is due to challenged ballots
...when a ballot is challenged, it is removed from the running tally, which creates the impression of fewer votes.
