Palin to Attend Governors Meeting with Obama (Sock It To Him Sarah)
online.wsj.com ^ | November 25, 2008, 5:01 pm | Sara Murray

Palin to Attend Governors Meeting with Obama
Sara Murray reports on politics.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will attend the governors meeting next week with President-elect Barack Obama, her spokesman said this afternoon.

While Bill McAllister, Palin’s spokesman, said he hadn’t spoken to the governor at length about the meeting, he said he expects her to bring up energy issues.

“Obviously she wants to communicate Alaska’s goals in assisting America with energy independence,” McAllister said. “That includes drilling for oil” as well as expediting a natural gas pipeline.

While Republican Sen. John McCain met with Mr. Obama following McCain’s presidential defeat, this will be the first time Palin, who was the Republican vice-presidential nominee, has reconnected with her former opponent.

For more details on the governors meeting, read the full story.

Nick Ayers, executive director of the Republican Governors Association, said the Republican governors are "looking forward to the opportunity meet him and hear about his plans," but that he expects the governors to show up with plenty of ideas of their own.

The governors found out about the meeting Monday, so it's still unclear who will be attending, although no one has "flat out said no," Mr. Ayers said.

Notified yesterday, and already Palin is on it.

that will be a hard sell now that oil is so much lower. But you know it will go up. Nobody wants to be proactive and plan for the long term.

Sorry for the hijack here:

NOTE TO GOVERNORS: Send this no-experience, no-nothing clown a memo that he is currently not holding any official government position, and hopefully never will - regardless, he has no business calling meetings with any public official. You Governors should be having this current non civil servent at your beck and call!

She’s doing just what she has to do, campaigning for Chambliss, attending this meeting, she has to stay active, both in Alaska, and on the national stage. Good for her. I hope that rumored book deal comes through about a week after this conference. That will set the Palin Derangement Syndrome sufferers into a foaming at the mouth frenzy.

In Sarah's "Turkey Shoot" interview, she made it clear that she warned about the price going down and said that Alaska has prepared for that.

But no one listened to what she was saying, they were too busy watching a worker grind up a live turkey and listening to the agony of it's gobble as it became ground up feathers and turkey guts/meat.

LOL, I still can't get over how stupid some people are.

So, no one but Sarah.

In Sarah's "Turkey Shoot" interview, she made it clear that she warned about the price going down and said that Alaska has prepared for that.
She socked away $5 billion surplus from the high prices last year. She's baselining the price at $35/barrel for the new budget cycle, down from $83. She's very grounded in reality for this budget cycle and the surplus fund will be there to help, although her spokesman said in another article that they're going to take a meataxe to the budget.

I suspect Sarah wants to tell Obama that now is the time (even in bad times with low oil prices) to invest in developing untapped oil sources for the future.

Investing government money in productive ventures may be a foreign concept for Zero, however. He'd rather just bail out his cronies in Detroit and elsewhere.

19. I enjoyed the reference to "Palin Derangement Syndrome".
Anyone who criticizes this airheaded bimbo, you see, is crazy. They have "Palin Derangement Syndrome". And anyone who criticizes spectacular presidential failure george bush has "Bush Derangement Syndrome".

This reminds me so much of America's habit of declaring every single world leader we disagree with to be "crazy" or "insane". Long-time news watchers like me will remember that Khomenei was declared insane when he took over Iran. Noriega in Panama was insane. Gadhafi in Libya? Insane. Saddam? He was totally crazy, just like Chavez in Venezuela is. And do I need to mention that crazy Castro?

As far as I can tell, every leader America has ever disagreed with has been called "insane" by us. But is that really possible? How did so many mentally ill people become leaders of countries and societies? And why has it never happened to us?

Oh.
