The Wall-Street Bailout costs more than the Marshall Plan, the Louisiana Purchase, the S&L bailout, the Korean War, the entire New Deal, the Iraq war, the Vietnam war, and NASA's lifetime budget, including the race to the moon...

...fucking COMBINED!

Have a nice day.

3. Very scary stuff. I think I am gonna start hanging out in the lounge
The few people here who understand this cannot offer much comfort (Virtual margaritas can only do so much)
And many don't understand it. Their parents were too young to have lived through the Depression. They don't udnerstand that giving away 40 to 45% of the yearly GNP will definiitely only make things worse, especially as this money is forked over to the very people that caused the situation, and who certainly are more interested in lining their own pockets rather than creating local jobs and infrastructure and getting this country back into happier times.

7. The key is in relishing the simple things, like "nobody's shooting at me today"
I have a good book to read while I wait in the soup line.

Realizing that you can live on ramen for months.

You can resole your shoes with newspaper and plastic bags.

My dogs are still my pets...

8. My Letter To The Office Of President Elect Obama
Mr. President Elect,

Congratulations to you and your team.

As a contributor and voter, I had confidence that you could and would win. Now that the election is over and you and your team are planning for the transition and inauguration, I think some economic accountability is in order.

Some basic research reveals that the "bailout" engineered by the present administration has already cost American taxpayers more than the Louisiana Purchase, the entire New Deal, the Marshall Plan, the Korean War, the Vietnam war, the S&L bailout, the Iraq war, and NASA's lifetime budget combined!

That is a staggering statement and number. When is enough enough? And equally importantly when will the people that got the US in this mess be held accountable? I ask those simple questions simply because as a middle class American I am sick and tired of working every day so a few very wealthy people can loot the country and then ask me to pay for it!

If ever there was time for a change, it is now!

What we need is clear, precise, focused, transparent, and unflinching accountability of our government budgets and processes. What we need is clear, precise, and unambiguous oversight and regulation of fundamental public markets that have the power to make or break the country and make or break its citizens. Finally, what we need is fair, impartial, and unflinchingly swift justice for the many, many people that have made this economic disaster possible.

As a supporter and voter, I hope you are up to this task. As a citizen, I ask, no demand, that you address these problems as President.

Sincerely,

XXXX
