The American public is repeatedly told that it's all "socialism". I wish the word "fascism" rolled off their tongues as easily. Our government is going to be completely owned by the debt that it is incurring. Paulsen's "injection of capital" -- without ownership -- can best be understand as a direct handoff of the power of government to the BigCapitalists. It's a rigged game, and you can be sure that this future wealth that is being thrown into a black hole will not end up in the hands of the pension plans or the 401Ks of the middle class.

And who is approving all this? Do we see Bush on TV? No, we see only a cabinet member whose name will be forgotten by 97% of the public in six months. Who opened the door to this black hole? Unfortunately, the fix was in when the "$700 Billion" bailout plan was proposed (by who??)and passed by our own Dear Congress. And as some here at DU warned at the time when it was being debated in Congress, that "$700 Billion" was like a revolving line of credit, not a hard limit. There has been no need for Paulsen to get further approvals from our own Dear Congress, because the opening that they provided is being "leveraged" in the way that only a former Goldman-Sachs CEO knows how.

We are witnessing the completion of the coup that Smedley Butler warned about.

4. 7,400,000,000,000/300,000,000 = $24,666,666
For a family of four we are talking a cool one hundred grand.

Chump change, eh?

7. Who knew?
I surely didn't know that we had such ginormous piles of cash laying around for no other purpose than to bail out overrich fat cats playing roulette with house money. And all this time, I've been told that we couldn't fix roads or bridges, couldn't build new schools (though we seem to be able to build more prisons), couldn't have universal health care, couldn't pay for college for everyone who wanted to go, couldn't make sure everyone was housed, clothed and fed, because we just didn't have the money. Now it turns out that we had trillions (trillions!) on hand waiting to be shoveled into the greasy mitts of the greediest motherfuckers ever to stroll the planet.

Oh well, live and learn.

This thing has been planned for a long, long time. We are just seeing the beginning of misery.

Economic Terrorism of the elite upon the masses.
