Really disgusting -- video of the Charlie Rose interview of Vikram Pandit,
head of Citi-Bank. Let's just call him Vikram Bandit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkZ77Dqk-Z4&feature=channel

Vikram cannot give a straight answer to a question, but he makes no bones about the fact that he plans to use the money he took from the taxpayers to shore up Citibank not to build the American economy or to invest in America but to further involve the U.S. overseas. Why should we American taxpayers have to bail out an international bank? That's not our job as far as I am concerned.

The bail-out of Citi-Bank is even worse than the bail-out of the rest of the crooks.

Vikram said seemed to think that this was the first time that American real estate values had tanked and that therefore it was perfectly reasonable for Citi-Bank to have assumed that its sub-prime mortgage investments were safe. I note that he went to grade and high school in India and did not come to the U.S. until he was 16. Obviously, he did not hear about the Great Depression from his grandparents or great-grandparents. And apparently he has never read Grapes of Wrath.

This guy is an excellent example of what is wrong with the United States today.

2. This whole thing has become a parody of itself.
Why our Democratic leaders are allowing this treason to continue is beyond me.

7. Didn't you get the memo??
"Why our Democratic leaders are allowing this treason to continue is beyond me."

It's called "turning the page" and "working together."

8. Ahhh, you must be referring to the "post-partisanship,
non-ideological" memo! Yes, I know it's around here somewhere... I'm sure someone can recap for me...

4. Well that was pretty surreal
Here's a comment from the link:

Rose: "Is Citi too fat to jump rope?"

Pandit: "Citi is not too fat to jump rope. We're about to fall over because we've got too many toxic chicken wings in our right pocket. We need taxpayers to take the toxic chicken wings out of our right pocket and pour salsa into our left pocket. If this isn't done, we'll fall over and crush the whole world."

Rose: "How did Citi get so lopsided?"

Pandit: "Everybody was trading in toxic chicken wings. Delicious. Then, food poisoning."

6. The shareholders should have been wiped out.
I refuse to do business with Citi until management is completely replaced.

10. Charlie Rose is an effete snob..
The ONLY thing "going for him" is the fact that he has a low-key show..no histrionics..screaming..arguing..and occasionally he has some unusual guests, but most of the time he is an unabashed suck-up to the "rich & powerful" guests. He lobs softballs to them, and allows them to bloviate until they cannot think of anything else to say.. I have never seen him truly challenge them, or offer a guest with an opposing view..

He seems particularly fond of Tom Friedman..and even though we KNOW that Charlie KNOWS about Tom's wife's financial issues, he never ever "goes there"...

11. They want to use part of that money to put "City Bank" on some stadium.
I think we should all boycott everything game or other venue that plans to use it and I think we need to let them know now.

I wish I could think of the name of the stadium now. I'm sure someone will.
