Singh: Mumbai Attackers From Outside India
MUMBAI, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says the group that killed more than 100 people in a series of Mumbai attacks is "based outside outside the country."

Singh made the comment Thursday as police in Mumbai fought to free hostages held by gunmen at three hotels in the city, CNN reported.

The toll from Wednesday's series of coordinated terrorist attacks staged by masked gunman was set at 101 dead and 314 wounded. Teams of armed men launched simultaneous assaults on hotels and other "soft" targets in Mumbai's southern financial district and a building housing members of an Orthodox Jewish group.

"It is evident that the group, which carried out these attacks, based outside the country, had come with single-minded determination to create havoc in the financial capital of the country," Singh told reporters, suggesting the attackers had "external linkages."

Police were successful Thursday in freeing 10 hostages from the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai's financial district, CNN reported, while a police official said a similar hostage situation at the nearby Taj Mahal Hotel was "almost sorted out." Hostages remained at the hotel, but he didn't say how many.

1. Okay.
Glad that you posted this. Some of the news reports suggested they were most likely from India.

Bad news, all around.

3. INtercepts indicate Punjabi speakers
and a Pak address for one of the assailants. They are likely Pak supported with links to Kashmiri groups.

4. When you say Pak supported, what do you mean?
Supported, funded, coordinated by a Pak group or by a Pak group connected to the Pak government?

6. There have been
connections between Pakistani intelligence and the type of group that carried out this attack. (This group apparently has a name that was previously unknown, at least to the sources on US news.)

16. The email claiming responsibilty is from the Deccan Muj.
It was copy/pasted from an email of the Indian Muj. claiming responsibility to the New Delhi blasts.

Indian Muj, is from India, buut believes to be supported through the Pak ISI.

2. I was going to post something similar. On MSNBC they showed an Indian feed
where she said the General on the ground said they intercepted communications between the terrorists and they were speaking Punjabi.

Not good at all. This is gonna suck.

15. Deccan Muj., probably a sub-group of Indian Muj. claimed
responsibility in an email. They are in India. If the email is real, then Sigh is wrong.
