I would rather send out fewer cards, and spend a little more for good quality, made-in-the-USA cards. If proceeds from their sale are going to a good cause that would be even better.

Thanks all, & and take care this holiday season.

1. I have cards coming
I ordered them from the Humane Society of the United States. I don't buy gifts anymore being my family is all dead and gone. I just send out cards and at least some poor suffering animal will get some help is my thought on this.

Best of luck finding other options.

4. Thanks - I acquired 2 abandoned kittens this past year, & the Humane
Society has helped me get them spayed & neutered (I now have a little boy and girl). My grown sons are now calling me the cat lady. The Humane Society is a good organization, and since I now know where they are located, I'll stop in and see if the have any Christmas cards. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I'm sorry your family is gone. My friends and family are also getting up in years, and my husband and I are finding ourselves attending an increasing number of funerals. Makes one appreciate life all the more.

They seem to be selling out the good ones pretty fast!

I ordered one box of these:

Thanks for your condolences re: my lack of family. It really sucks not having anyone left to share the holidays with. I sure miss my mom & dad and little brother and eccentric old uncle. May they all RIP.

I try not to dwell on the losses. I find no good in doing it. I just remember them and try to think of the good times mostly.

This is a very bad time of the year for people that have no one much left.

3. I buy my cards through SPARC
Stewart Park and Reserve Coalition sells holiday cards - profits fund their not for profit. Perhaps there is something local like this near you..

5. Give To The Poor Instead
Honestly, with all the poverty and hunger in the world today, it is beyond me to understand why anyone would spned money on Christmas cards (and postage!) and gifts (and wrapping paper).

Human needs before gifts and cards!

8. I help people in need by direct giving, buying USA products, patronizing local
businesses (including the USPS), and connecting with my family (both young and old) by sending Christmas greetings. In some cases it may be just once a year, I still appreciate that connection. The very best to you and yours.

9. They Have Jobs
There are many, many people without jobs or businesses.

I like to take care of them before spending money on the nicer things in life.

It's good that you have enough money to spend on Christmas cards and postage.

Think of those who don't. GIVE to them.

Best to you, too.

6. My Favorite....

also, Pampered Chef stoneware is made in the USA. Pampered Chef sells mostly through distributors (home parties) but if you go to their website, they will find a representative for you.

11. Check out local craft fairs for gifts. I hit a few last weekend
and you can find some very well made and interesting gifts for a reasonable price. Actually, in some cases the prices are so low I suspect the crafters are barely breaking even.

16. Buy Handmade on Etsy
There are lots of people (like me) trying to get by selling handmade items on etsy. I don't make cards, but there are lots of gorgeous cards there, and you can choose to shop locally.
