I hope Stanford students give her hell. I'd call her war criminal every time I saw her. Hell I's probably wear a Tee shirt with Condi is a war criminal.

<snip>
Talking about Obama, and what she calls "the continuum of the African American experience," a smile comes over her face. She remembers how her father befriended the radical activist Stokely Carmichael and invited him to their home -- and how people might have attacked her, as they did Obama, for her casual acquaintance with a communist agitator.

She knows that she's a superstar now, someone who will never be able to stroll into a grocery store unnoticed. She plans to apply this star power to education. "I'm an educator who took a detour," she says.
-----------
I'm actually amazed that her father befriended Stokely.
Stokely is from Trinidad and Tobago and was married to Miriam Makeba.

3. Never ever....
My mother of blessed memory used to sell fancy dresses during the worst years of the Depresssion, and there were those poeple who dropped 100 dollar bills like confetti when people were taking hom 10 dollars a week if they were lucky...

She had stories about these rich people and their offspring which were just remarkable. Often, they would buy a dress, pick it up Thursday, bring it back Tuesday saying that they didn't wear it for full credit, THEN the store personnel would see food stains and sweat marks AND a couple days later, the society pages would have pics of the ladies in these very dresses. The proprietor was afraid of the repercussions if she ever called any of these hot-shots on this stuff.

4. condi rice has a really great cousin named Connie Rice who is a civil rights lawyer
Connie Rice is co-director of The Advancement Project and a civil rights lawyer known for successfully tackling problems of inequity and exclusion in unorthodox ways. She has received more than 60 major awards for her work in expanding opportunity and advancing multi-racial democracy. Rice graduated from Harvard College in 1978 and New York University School of Law in 1984. The credential she prizes most, however, is her first-degree black belt in the Korean martial art Tae Kwon Do. As a litigator, Rice has filed and won traditional class action civil rights cases redressing police misconduct, race and sex discrimination and unfair public policy in transportation, probation and public housing. Added to the non-litigation work, Rice and her colleagues have led campaigns and bond initiatives that transferred over $25 billion into systems that support the poor. In January of 2007, she released the highly regarded report, "A Call to Action: A Case for a Comprehensive Solution to L.A.'s Gang Violence Epidemic," which was commissioned by the City Council's Ad Hoc Committee on Gang Violence and Youth Development. Hallmarks of her work include solving problems, reducing conflict, turning opponents into allies, and winning.

8. I've seen her on Moyers' program on PBS.
I don't quite remember what she said about family dinners and what they discuss when they are together. Connie Rice was fabulous, though and we are lucky to have her on our side.

7. Me and Condi got something in common ...
We were both asleep at 11pm when victory was declared!

But not sleeping together, let me make that clear :)

Anyway, both of us had to get up early to go to work. So why not sleep? The night was not full of suspense, the outcome was certain. So why not sleep peacefully?

The next morning, we both probably got up, turned on the news, got dressed (separately), and went to work knowing who is the next president.

(She was undoubtedly dressed more posher than me.)
