Can the "more liberal than thou" crowd just post one thread with where I should shop,
what car I should buy and with whom I should associate?

I'm getting tired reading all those threads, and I'm sure I missed one or two. I sure don't want to be seen as Un-American.

Please, just post a list so I can bookmark it for further reference. Thanks.

1. You 'shop'? If you don't make it yourself
you are evil.

3. You should MAKE everything yourself. From organic hemp.
Any extra you can trade your for chickens and weed and stuff. Oh, and don't forget those evil utilities...generate your own electricity, too.

27. No, you have to grow it yourself
Organically.

And you'd better mine your own metals and grow your own trees for firewood too.

34. Are you suggesting burning a tree?
Don't be stupid.

And don't try that time-tested objection - "wait until it dies, or until the branches fall off." If your tree dies or loses branches or leaves, you obviously aren't trying hard enough to provide it with a safe and nourishing environment in which to grow. Every part of that tree has as much right to live as you do, if not more.

If you MUST have a fire, which is bad for the atmosphere anyway, it should obviously be kindled from dried dung.

grown in chemical-free family-friendly dirt which is NOT imported from China. I read politically correct bedtime stories to them every night. I only wear Earth Shoes in their presence. And my axe was made by the UAW.

So there.

36. Well, there are substantive differences
between "associating with" and "doing business with," IMO. I'm not just trying to nit-pick. I happen to think it's legitimate to make choices about spending money based on the ethics of the other party. I think "associating" with people doesn't carry the same level of implicit endorsement.

(And for the record, I don't agree with Don about the car & cart stuff, but I understand his frustration and I'm not going to bash him about it.)

35. the battle of the control freaks
One group of control freaks want to tell everyone what to do, the other wants to tell them what to do and tell the rest of us not to listen to them.

As always, the threads complaining about the alleged offense outnumber those committing the alleged offense about 10-1.

try to buy American? No one said it's possible to buy everything made here, but what's so fucking awful about saying we should when we can? This isn't about liberal purity, it's about our economy.

Is the idea of responsible purchasing that offensive to you lot? Is it so deserving of contempt that you have to start three times as many threads condemning and ridiculing it? Shit.
