George Kennedy film to open at Boise theater
By Tim Woodward

BOISE, Idaho - Academy Award winner George Kennedy and daytime soap opera veteran Eric Braeden have more in common than most movie-trivia buffs would think.

Kennedy played the father of Braeden's longtime character, Victor Newman, in an early episode of "The Young and the Restless."

The two are mortal enemies in "The Man Who Came Back," a film that will premiere Dec. 5 at Boise's Egyptian Theater.

And they're friends in real life.

snip: Filmed in Texas in 2007, "The Man Who Came Back" tells the story of a Confederate Army hero who is appalled by the treatment of former slaves in the post-Civil War South. He tries to help and runs afoul of the town bigots, with dire consequences. Braeden plays the hero; Kennedy is a bigot's bigot.

"I play the worst S.O.B. you ever saw," Kennedy said.
