Citi Bank could have built their own stadium for LESS than $400 million!

And not only could they name it whatever they want.. they would OWN THE FRICKEN STADIUM!

This is just insane what these huge financial corporations are doing.

The Phoenix area got a new stadium for the Cardinals in 2006 for $355-million

Cincinnati got a new stadium for $320 million.

And a stadium is going to draw revenue for 30, 40, 50 years... some stadiums last close to 100 years.

For a corporation to pay $400 million just for the name of the stadium for 20 years shows incompetence of staggering heights.

I wouldnt trust my meager pass book savings account with idiots like that...

So why the hell are we giving them BILLIONS in tax-payer backed funding???

1. New York has some high real estate values
Maybe if they built it in New Jersey.

5. It doesnt have to be in the NYC area ...

If a major bank has $400 million burning a hole in its pocket and they want to build a stadium...

Shop it all over the country, they get both the name AND they own the revenue producing stadium.

Better yet, there are probably more than a few sports team owners who would pay part of the cost for a huge bank to build them a brand new stadium to increase ticket sales.

4. There are operating expenses too
I don't know what all goes into the operation of a sports stadium, but it doesn't end after the stadium is built. But you do make a good point. Not to mention, just what the hell does cost so much these days because the workers sure aren't getting the big money.
