"They kept shopping?" And you want to live in the US because????
The story about the mob killing of a fellow human has convinced me.
It is time to LEAVE the asylum called the United States of America.
"They kept shopping???"
"They kept shopping???"
"They kept shopping???"

A man was dead from the mob trampling him and "They kept shopping???"
This story has disturbed me beyond words.
I do not want to live among such people.

I'm done.

You have a naive view that this incident was the worst thing that has happened to humanity and there was no possible way something like this was possible anywhere else in the world. You asked for proof, you asked for links. That's what I provided you.

Mankind is stinky, mean, cruel, and many other very bad things. We are also capable of extraordinary acts of pure kindness.

I'm originally from Queens myself, and I always found the people I knew to be pretty cool and engaged. During a big black out in the 60s, my whole apartment building banded together to help each other out.

And I have seen PLENTY of west coasters with the

27. I can understand your anxiety over this incident. I'm sad too.
It doesn't make me want to leave this country though. It was a relatively small group of people. Were you alive when the Who concert in Cincinatti had people killed because of "festival seating"? If so, did you want to leave the country then?

I could have been sitting in a cafe in Mumbai like the Rabbi, his wife, and his child (his child being the only one of the three to survive, due to the heroic action of others). I could have been getting on a train in Madrid when the bombs went off. I could have been on the Achille Lauro, or in Munich in 1972. Those incidents happened because of rabid hate. This incident today happened because of tough economic times, and a wish to be "first to get one".

I'll trade one of our incidents for ten of theirs any day.

Not ashamed here, just sad.

61. I am not
trying to be condescending... but .... have you traveled much?

I was always a down on America type... America is the worst.. the American people are so uneducated and uncultured.. so and so forth. UNTIL I started traveling. Those foreigners out there that are not as educated, civilized and compassionate as you seem to romanticize them to be, quite the opposite many times. My appreciation for this country and the genuinely kind people in this country goes up every time I leave the country for any extended period of time.

58. And it's stupid.
But it's even MORE stupid to judge a state, region or country based on the actions of a few people or even a few dozen people.

34. Mobs are nothing to play around with for several reasons.
WalPuke knows this but chooses not to expend a little extra effort making their sales safe. Either that or they simply don't care. Maybe both.

Mob mentality isn't limited to a particular geographic area. To say you don't want to live among such people rather limits your choices, but have at it.

66. Overreact much? Overgeneralize much?
OMG, people were stomped to death at a WHO concert! Rock and Roll is terrible!

OMG, people were stomped to death at a rugby game! Sports fans are terrible!

Sometimes a tragedy might be as easily explained as bad planning on the part of Walmart. They knew there was a crowd. They know the crowds exert pressure from the back. They know this happens every year. They implicitly or explicitly encourage such behaviors. They're in a position to take safety measures.

67. Religious pilgrimage mob trampling deaths occur like clockwork, yet...
curiously, little mention is made of them here.

69. They didn't only keep shopping
They dragged their boxes and trampled through a crime scene unprotected by the greedy fuckers called WALMART.
It is a frightening story. People are sick at all levels.

73. Thanks Malaise- I know you understand where I am coming from on this story.
I don't recognize this country anymore.
Somehow, I don't think the examples given on this thread
as comparisons really apply.

We are talking about a crowd of WALMART shoppers.
A mob more concerned with buying SHIT
than a person's life.
