Missouri man finds wife's body near her wrecked car

BOLIVAR, Mo. | A Polk County man is angry about finding his wife's body hours after a deputy discovered her wrecked car and ordered it towed.

Frank Dartt also is asking whether his 48-year-old wife, Brenda, would have survived if she had been found earlier.

After his wife failed to show up for work, Dartt called her cell phone, and a worker for a towing company answered. Dartt learned her car had been towed from a bridge on Highway KK around 2 a.m. Wednesday. The deputy who found her car had searched for survivors and assumed the vehicle had been abandoned.

Dartt conducted his own search that afternoon and found his wife's body below the bridge.

The coroner conducted an autopsy but was awaiting toxicology results before reaching a conclusion.

4. I'm sorry, but I think that's an incredibly mean response to tragedy...
Maybe it was intended to lighten the gloom, but it didn't succeed.

6. Intensive Investigation Needed
The media has revealed (if correct) ... little damage to the
car ...... yet serious injuries to the woman when found under
the bridge... questions are did she sustain these injuries as
a result of her vehicle making contact with the guard rail or
after the initial collision? Was she or someone else driving?
Is there any indication that she was driven off the road to
contact the bridge railing by another vehicle perhaps a
stalker,is there any paint fragments from contact with another
vehicle? Was there blood found in the car? if not then how and
at what point in time after the collision did she receive such
injuries that drew blood? This is a very concerning case with
obvious suspicious circumstances indicating criminality on the
part of another person; intensive and thorough investigations
should be carried out at the highest level into all aspects of
the matter ...... is this a state police issue now or a local
investigation? Irrespective of who is dealing with the case
all investigative testing of the highest order and modern
resources should be made available to assist in determining
the cause of death of this woman.

I am not sure what it means. She might have hit her head when she fell after she got out of the car looking for help?

3. I know someone who found his dead son after a very similar series of events..
Kid was about twenty, the only thing showing above the mud was the bottom of his boots.

There had been a car accident and the kid was a passenger, not belted in, he was thrown from the car and killed instantly. Car was hauled off and the driver was taken to the morgue but the passenger wasn't found by the cops.

8. Something similar happened down in Texas.
Paramedics showed up on the scene of an accident and just covered a young woman they thought was dead.

She wasn't.

After it was discovered she was alive, it was too late, and by the time she got the hospital she was dead.
