1. wow... should we go online to reserve tickets now? |
|
Just in case....
Not to be sanctimonious, but I'd prefer a memorial to Mr. Damour be televised....

16. I don't know if a memorial should be televised. |
|
That would give the Wal-Mart billionaires an excuse to attend.

3. I hope Damour didn't die in vain. Maybe this will be the impetus to help us examine our behavior |

But, there has to be some public reckoning.
Not twisted by propaganda.

5. They will weasel their way out of it - you watch. |

I'm sure their (Walmart) lawyers are already arguing about how much of a check to dangle in front of the survivors for their signatures, and a promise to *be quiet* about what happened.
Funny how they can come up with cash when they want to make a problem go away. :grr:

9. Yes, I think the trial should be televised |

and I'd like to see Walmart spring for some public safety education ads to raise awareness of the dangers inherent in mob behaviour, and how to protect yourself and your employees from said dangers.
Will be helpful later on when this same tragic scenario is played out at food banks, low-income health care facilities, and other agencies, both public and private, soon to be overwhelmed by the demand generated by this collapsing economy.

12. Walmart is notorious for misusing the legal system in such matters. |
|
About 20 years ago, a judge in Texas hit Sam Walton with a huge sanction for failing to appear for deposition. Walmart got it set aside.
They have a reputation for using lawyers who make lawyers look bad.
