Why was a temp worker opening on black friday???? this does not make any sense


from my experience in retail (10 years SEARS) left 2002 the store manager , OPERATIONS MANAGER ( assistant store manager), opens. In some cases when there is more than one entrance loss prevention or a div. manager opens.. it is never a a regular store associate.

1. No it does not.
Usually a manager is unlocking the front door on days like Friday. They usually open the door and stand to the side reminding people to be civil.

2. if you're talking about wal-mart,
i'm sure that answers your question. the person who opened the store was probably the lowest paid associate . . . or was one of the associates who would not have to be paid ot.

6. There was a time in this country
when retail was honorable.

Wal-Mart did away with all that.

If we can get the Employee Free Choice Act passed, we may be able to force Wal-Mart to some degree of honorability where it chooses to have none.

8. a temp doing a permanent workers job at 2/3rd the salary (no
benefits -on contract) goes on at all the big corporations, even the blue ones. from personal experience.
