I spent as a kid. I traveled with my parents and sister to France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, etc., long before the fall of the Berlin Wall and the age of the Euro. Those were some glorious times, filled with snow, great food (Can you say Buche de Noel?), and glorious decorations.

...my husband and I went to Germany in December before we were married and we still use all the ornaments we bought.
