1. The guy himself resigned, The nation didn't hold him accountable, he was accountable and did the
honorable thing.

Here, our governement isn't honorable so they didn't take responsibility. They ran from it.

4. And the citizenry is in the street demanding answers.
We were too accepting the implication that only traitors asked questions and demanded answers.

5. Why should any of ours resign when they even publish what they want.
And work to get it done. The slips-ups came when they didn't do the damage they were trying to cause.

6. Going by local reports on live stream, there is a general election in 4 months
Edited on Sun Nov-30-08 12:57 PM by rainbow4321
With India being 4 months away from a general election, the party in office is doing whatever it will take to stay in power...including "accepting resignations" of officials if they think the resignatins will decrease the Indian population's rage over reports of pre-attack warnings being ignored.
As of now, reports are saying next to go may be the Chief Minister of the party in office.
The home minister was shut out of a high level meeting the day before he "resigned"...pretty sure that was his first sign that he was no longer going to keep his job. News reports are saying this was like the ninth or tenth terror attack while he was in office and the Mumbai attack is being called "the last straw" given public reports saying that there was intel of the planned attack.

Live stream CNN-IBN has live and pre-recorded reports..they break into the pre-recorded stuff with live reports as needed (least they did last night when the news broke about the home minister resigning).
