1. I think Laura has been far too lobotomonized
during her years in that family to do so.... Interesting, yes, but I wouldn't bet on it. She has that "Old time southern attitude" towards buried laundry--keep the skeletons buried and the crazies locked up in the attic.

4. Oh, but he's the "man" in the family...
They get to strut and exhibit their craziness in all its "glory."

2. I could care less
I just want them to go away and never be heard from again unless it's in a criminal court.

28. Not to be a grammar nazi, but it's 'could NOT care less.'
Edited on Sun Nov-30-08 05:16 PM by dweeb
Indicating that you could care less means that there's the slightest possibility that you could care.

I don't think you meant to paint yourself with that brush.

31. Well you are a grammar Nazi
So how's this? I don't care! I don't give a damn if GW and Laura stay together. I am totally uncaring about the subject. Etc.

I wouldn't put anything past George.

8. She'll just live out a sham marriage...
That's traditional where she comes from...and she doesn't risk losing anything...

11. What is a sham marriage?
you mean like turning a blind eye to a spouses transgressions and standing by them? That only happens where they come from?

22. Oh, I get it now
You mean like FDR and Eleanor or JFK and Jackie or Bill and Hillary or the Edwards, that kind "marriage of convenience".

23. Depends on your definition... I think the couples you cite
genuinely love and respect each other, even if they had fallen "out of love" with each other (yes, despite the hurt, that, I think goes for the Edwards). It is unclear to what extent Laura still has feelings for George, but I wouldn't be surprised if the balance is far to the direction of "convenience" than lingering love and respect.

24. But in keeping with the spirit of the OP
wouldn't you just love to have seen some of those "conversations" played out in public and on the TV? Can you imagine the hours of entertainment?

26. I"ll pass...
I might have to silently applaud, though, if she left him... But, I think she's too ingrained into current patterns, to her own detriment.

10. Oh Hell Yes! I would be glued to every sordid moment, every detail.
This would be better than every white teenage girl that ever went missing and every murdering celebrity that every went free. I would live for every breath of a new disclosure.

18. I am in favor of any event that causes George some pain and anguish
Bleeding hemorrhoids or a root canal or a divorce. I want him to suffer every day for the rest of his miserable failure of a life. I want him to suffer tenfold for every ounce of pain he has caused the world.

27. Eh. The only court I want to see Junior in is at the Hague.
Or a war crimes tribunal of some kind.

Now if a divorce would serve that, sure. Laura should sing, then.

30. If George Is In Jail (*here He Belongs!)
If there is ANY Justice in this *orld, George Bush *ill be indicted, convicted, and sent to jail for a loooooooooooooong time.

Laura could file for divorce on grounds of desertion.

Choice. S*eet.

note: In protest of the continuing occupation of OUR *hite House by the Bush/Cheney regime of thugs and cronies, I refuse to use the letter bet*een "V" and "X".
