You can't give him the dignity of the office if he didn't earn it legitimately. Period. |
|
This shoe thing being an offense to the office only holds true if that office was attained through legally recognized standards. It wasn't. Hope that's clear. IT WAS NOT.
So for the soft-hearted suckers who think Bush somehow deserves the respect of the office that he (and them) stole from us... blatantly, thoroughly and obviously... you are the very ones that this scam was intended for. I was not the sucker. Millions of people around the world were not the sucker.
Don't drag me into your pity pit simply because you happen to be gullible. He never was the fucking president, and barely managed to act like one. A missed shot to the kisser was a blessing compared to what he deserves.
This has nothing to do with the office. Only the person. And the lying fucking scam that a billion people can see right through.

2. Yes. I agree with that. |
|
But, because he was granted the power of the office, he has managed to drag the honor of our nation down to the level of fraud and sham.

3. I find it very alarming that some people imagine the dignity of the office can be destroyed by |
|
a temporary holder thereof. Doesn't say much for the position, it seems to me. Isn't it a bit like how the "institution of marriage" is in mortal danger, according to the rightwing nutcakes?

I will respect he person in it in about 34 days, and I don't want to see it then.

7. I don’t even respect the office |
|
He soiled it beyond recognition with his putrid filth. Come January 20th that will change but for now it is essentially non-existent and I’m indifferent to any disrespect lauded upon it.

8. I won't argue if he was elected, but he was appointed. BUT he sure hasn't earned respect. |
|
Just because someone holds a position does not mean they have earned respect. Respect is something that must be earned aside from holding an office or position.
He has not earned any respect. Period.

16. He wasn't appointed either, he seized power |
|
There is no constitutional means to appoint a president. The US Supreme Court intervened and halted the counting of votes in Florida. A subsequent review of the Florida ballots showed that Gore would have won if all the ballots had been counted in accordance with Florida law. The powers that be caved for a variety of reasons allowing what was in effect a coup to take place. Bush seized the powers of the presidency and has been exercising them illegitimately ever since.

11. Agree completely except: could you please cite one instance where he acted like a President. |
|
Otherwise I have to quibble with "...barely managed to act like one."
Just one. :)
