So the GOPers want to fight Eric Holder and they want to go waaaaaaaaay back to the Clinton era and even Elian Gonzales.

Yes ....... insane, particularly in the face of the bushpublican crimes.

But there we have it.

6. I don't want Eric Holder at ALL. It totally pisses me off to be put in this position.

I wouldn't in any way, shape, or form ally with the Repubs in thwarting his nomination -- nor wish for their success.

On the other hand, I really strongly dislike the idea of Holder as AG. I think it totally sucks big time.

The problem is, the "whatever Obama decides is all good because Obama decided it" crowd way outnumbers the people who feel like I do.

So fuck it. You guys can duke it with the right wing, I'll go look for something more meaningful to do than defend another Clintonite re-tread. Suckers.

The point of the OP was to ask, simply, do we fight the GOP on principle or not? I think we should to let them know from the start that WE ARE IN CHARGE.

Let the centrists and the DLCers defend their own, it's not my fight. I'm a lefty, and certainly NOT part of the "we in charge".

One of my greatest political regrets will always be defending Bill Clinton from impeachment. We could have had President Gore.

I have absolutely no intention of defending Holder.
