Are the wingnuts getting more frenzied, or is it me? |
|
I'm on a listserv for an arts group of which I was a member for many years.
After a particularly ugly 2000, I got tired of having to bat down the wingnuts, and got everyone to agree to a total moratorium on political jokes, comments, links, etc. No politics. Period.
So recently, one of the wackier former members, who sends out a lot of crap, frankly, (virus warnings, urban myths, etc.) sent out something from Al Gore, or something about "An Inconvenient Truth". Rather than ignore it like we mostly ignore everything else she sends out, the wingnuts started frothing at the mouth and "replying to all" about the "myth" of global warming, fraud, Al Gore being an "asshat", a windbag, etc. WAY over the top.
Seems to me like they're afraid of something. Or they've been beaten up so badly in the past few months that they're lashing out at the smallest thing.
Has anyone else observed an increase in wingnut frenzy levels?

...any wingnuts that I know personally have stopped emailing me. I guess they didn't like my corrections to their urban legends.

8. Nothing like making those corrections |
|
and sending them out to everyone on their list. It sure cured my RW email woes. :)

14. Yeah, I used to do that and send corrections to the original list |
|
of recipients. Then my sister suppressed the list -- guess my freeper-sister didn't want the truth to get out, a true repuglican she.

Seems the wingnuts, particularly the Xstian ones, teach their homeschooled kiddies that Global Warming is indeed a myth. Seems to be they've decided anything that is science isn't Godly.

A hobby board I frequent has a small mafia of wingnuts. For the past few weeks they have been going nuts - a daily barrage of hate posts directed at liberals, Democrats, Muslims, Mexicans, etc. It was especially intense after the Libby conviction.
Suddenly, two days ago all of them went silent. The discussions were not going well and I think they are having trouble finding talking points that do not lead to humiliation - not that they have been able to notice that before.
I really hate debating political issues in a non-political forum. I refuse to start political threads, but I got sick of watching the Bush worshippers turn the forum into a frothing, hate-soaked, soap box every day, so I began challenging them about a year ago. Frankly, it's frustrating and time consuming, but I have received some very nice IM comments from the lurkers.

Tax cuts and an immensely costly war has tossed the nation into debt it never thought would see.
bush's "eternal war" scenarios.
Scandal after scandal, and investigations to boot.
These people are scared to death...All Limbaugh talks about now is how "phony" Global Warming is...day after day, it's the only message he has, and it, as usual is incorrect.

They get a dose of it daily from the RW radio hatemongers. The conservative movement is in its death throes thanks to their poster boy Chimpy Shit-for-Brains.
