In some respects, I think we have to take the high road. Let's face it: We were given a copy of Rick Warren's book for Christmas a couple of years ago. It ended up in the garbage can, unread. I detest him, I detest what he stands for, and I believe he is ignorant and bigoted. At the same time, his appearance has nothing to do with it. It's all about his ideas and his warped worldview.

I'm sure there's been more than one beautiful woman who's come on to him at that church of his. After all, I'm sure he's fundy catnip. Plus, he's loaded. At the same time, making fun of what he looks like does nothing to boot him off the inaugural program, and just makes us all look bad. I think Sam Kinison summed it up pretty well, "How could one man fall in love with another man's hairy ass?", later I heard him explain that he was turned on by blond women with big jugs and there isn't anything that could ever change that no matter how hard he tried or wished it wasn't so, if some other guy feels the same way about another mans hairy ass, who is he to doubt that it is, in fact, the other guys desire and not a choice, and how could he ask or expect that person to change. This was all in an interview about why he quit being an evangelist, it was because of hypocrisy largely on this issue. As crude as Sam was, until I heard this and applied it to myself and my preferences, I was undecided about whether homosexuality was a choice or not....since there is no doubt in my mind that it is not a choice at all.
