Police looking for robbery suspect

The Waxahachie Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Dollar General store, located in the 600 block of N. U.S. Highway 77.

Officers responded to the scene at about 8 p.m. Monday, with a cashier telling them a man had pointed a handgun at her and demanded money.

The woman told police she complied and the man told her to go into the restroom and not come out. She said she waited about five minutes before coming out and calling 911.

Authorities are reviewing a surveillance tape that shows a suspect running toward Blockbuster after exiting the Dollar General.
