Who selects the head of the Democratic National Committee? And why was Lanny Davis |
|
chosen?
I was under the impression that the Democratic Leadership Council, which seems to be almost totally, if not totally filthy-rich corporate Democrats, makes the selection. Can someone please help me to understand how this works and why Lanny Davis would be chosen?
Also, does President-Elect Obama have anything to do with the selection or is he not considered the person in control of the DLC?

6. No, isn't Tim Kaine selected for leader of the DNC, while ... |
|
Lanny Davis :wtf: will be replacing Harold Ford for the leadership of the DLC.
I dispise the DLC as too far right for my poltical leanings, but at least Harold Ford was highly intelligent and, at times, engaging and insightful.

It says Democratic National Committee. DNC.
Who cares who heads the DLC anyway.

11. OP mis-typed in thread title DNC but in body of post has it correct = DLC. |
|
The only reason I care is that Lanny's whiny vapid voice will be coming across the airwaves. Damn, every time I hear him I want to take a sharpened pencil and gouge out my eardrums. :silly:
Just think, if we score anymore WIMPY and WHINY ass-clown democrats like Harry Reid and Lanny Davis the D.C. Dominatrix trade is going to thrive. Those whiny voices! I can just hear them saying, "I've been a bad bad boy and deserve to be spanked." Oh the Hor-ror. :P

12. My bad. I think you're right ShortnFiery. So, can someone answer me as to who selects |
|
these people?? Both the DNC and the DLC, as I am not happy with Kaine or Davis and would like to know who to vent to.
Thanks, and my apologies for the mis-labeling.

14. No big deal. You made it "interesting." :-) To answer your question, I don't know who selects ... |
|
either the DNC or DLC chairman. Truth be told, I am losing HOPE that the middle class will recover. I fear that "the reverse Robin Hood Scam" will continue unabated until the depression hits us HARD. I hope I'm just being "moody and morose" about the foregoing predictions ... but fear that I'm not. :(

15. I would think the DLC caucus members would choose their own chairman? |
|
That's how the CBC chooses their leader. However, it would be interesting to know how the DNC chairman is chosen.

7. Are you confusing the DNC and DLC? Your headline is going to send people into a fricken conniption. |
|
What the hell are you talking about?
Obama picked Tim Kaine to head the DNC.

13. Yes on fricken conniption. I was confusing Davis and Kaine, but they seem to be cut |
|
from the same cloth to me. Please enlighten me if I'm wrong cause I am having a conniption over this shit.

10. Lanny Davis was a partial traitor. Now he's a full one. Now, I know there is |
|
not going to be an improvment and the DLC is alive and well? It's difficult to picture him in the DLC except for one thing - all during the Bush administration he has been as milguetoast and turncoat as the rest. I hope I'm wrong. I am getting very shaky about all the old DLC in charge every time we turn.

16. I don't know what the fuss is about. Lanny Davis will be just like Harold Ford, |
|
a figure head. The DLC is just a caucus, like all the other caucuses within the party framework, like the Congressional Black Caucus. I think there's even a Progressive Caucus within the party as well.
