Yippee, I got my invitation to the inauguration in the mail! Oh, wait.... |
|
I hung around Washington for a few days, heard nothing, and figured, hey it's time to get back to work, so I headed back for Germany on Tuesday. When I got to Germany on Wednesday, there was this big envelope in the mail. Gold embossed, fancy-looking, and sure enough, Barack H. Obama requests the pleasure of your presence etc etc etc.
Great. I am not running all the way back to America now that I'm here, but thanks for the gesture anyway! In four years, maybe.......
(My younger daughter will be in DC on Inauguration Day, so I FedExed it to her--might as well try not to let it go to waste....)

3. Forty euros--think about it |
|
My daughter will be grateful to me forever. Less than a cent per day for the rest of my life.
Seems like a hell of bargain to me.
