Tweety wanted a black senator from Maryland, no matter what.

In the Democratic primary he and I voted the same - Kweisi Mfume, an uber liberal. Ben Cardin, a good, solid liberal, won the primary.

In the general, Tweety and I canceled out each other. He voted for the uber conservative Steele over the eventual winner, Cardin.

So, he votes first for an uber liberal and then votes for the political polar opposite? That's either schizophrenic or he voted for the only trait the two have in common .... race.

Now .... I have no general problem with that kind of thinking, but only as a tie breaker. In other words, in this day and time, as we still need to make progress, I could justify choosing the black or female candidate over the white guy ..... but only if they were all generally, broadly the same politically.
