Octuplets’ mother wants Oprah to turn her into a $2m TV star

$250,000 per living implant?

Octuplets’ mother wants Oprah to turn her into a $2m TV star
John Harlow, Los Angeles

THE single mother of octuplets born in California last week is seeking $2m (£1.37m) from media interviews and commercial sponsorship to help pay the cost of raising the children.

Nadya Suleman, 33, plans a career as a television childcare expert after it emerged last week that she already had six children before giving birth on Monday. She now has 14 below the age of eight.

Although still confined to an LA hospital bed, she intends to talk to two influential television hosts this week — media mogul Oprah Winfrey, and Diane Sawyer, who presents Good Morning America.

Her family has told agents she needs cash from deals such as nappy sponsorship — she will get through 250 a week in the next few months — and the agents will gauge public reaction to her story.

until I saw how greedy they are. They've had plastic surgery, hair implants, a piano after mentioning the twins wanted music lessons, many expensive vacations, houses, vans, etc. Gets to be a little tiresome.

Edited on Sat Jan-31-09 09:42 PM by LibDemAlways
They fessed up recently on one of those "Jon and Kate answer your questions" shows that the daughter who had started the piano lessons quit after just a couple. Would be interesting to know if they got to keep the piano anyway. They certainly have plenty of room for it in their new million dollar digs. Nothing like earning a living off the backs of your young children. What a couple of scammers.

32. They both quit their day jobs and have turned the tv show,
books, and public appearances where they ask gullible people for "love offerings," into their sole source of income. Every dime they make now depends on their kids' lives being open to the public. They've shown them on the toilet and in the bathtub. One episode centered on a little boy's constipation. Nothing is off limits. And the parents are greedy, greedy, greedy.....accepting vacations in Hawaii, trips to Disney World, ski vacations in Utah and on and on. Meanwhile, they have alienated their friends and family so the kids don't even get to see their grandparents. Truly horrible people.

sacrifices she's made, etc.

The promo for a recent episode showing off the new $1.3 mil. house showed her standing at a window looking out on a vast stretch of property and cackling "All mine." With that attitude in this economy viewers will be tuning out in droves and Kate and Jon may soon have to seek gainful employment once more.

If the Whittier woman thinks she's going to star in the single mom version of that show, she's sorely mistaken.

16. She must have a serious obsession...or compulsive behavior
Edited on Sat Jan-31-09 08:30 PM by Historic NY
<snip>
Her daughter's obsession with children caused Angela Suleman considerable stress, so she sought help from a psychologist, who told her to order her daughter out of the house.
<snip>
Yolanda Garcia, 49, of Whittier, said she helped care for Nadya Suleman's autistic son three years ago.
"From what I could tell back then, she was pretty happy with herself, saying she liked having kids and she wanted 12 kids in all," Garcia told the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
"She told me that all of her kids were through in vitro, and I said 'Gosh, how can you afford that and go to school at the same time?"' she added. "And she said it's because she got paid for it."

light I figured she had to be in it for the money. She's probably watched every episode of Jon and Kate plus 8 and figured with a set of octuplets, twins, and 4 more, TLC would surely come a calling.

I don't think she was counting on the backlash I think is building.
