Fare thee well, DU. I'm outta here. I can't stand it anymore |
|
I'm sick of winter. There's too much snow here. I'm off on a road trip with a friend, heading south and then west. I've always loved Vermont winters, but come Feb, it's time for a break.
Have fun discussing everything under the sun.

1. This place is gonna be very crazy by the time you get back. |
|
With you away and leaving us unsupervised, we will not just be entertaining all manner of crackpot notions and bizarre conspiracy fantasies, but letting them move into the basement and spare room.

7. Might I suggest you follow the old Yankee route to the south? |
|
Down through Yankee Pennsylvania with its industry and tradesmen and then along the mountains on the east side into Tuckahoe country, the nation's first elite. Maybe even pass over the mountains following the paths of the Cohee, hard-scrabble farmers of the western territories.
There was a lot of history after the French and Indian war but before the Revolution and if you head south and west you'll be passing right through the middle of it. What better way to enjoy a road trip than to see the country in the new light of old history?
Have a good trip. Look forward to hearing from you when you get back.
Thom
