Looking for work-Try Craigslist- waaay more listings than other sources
I know I'm probably the last to figure this out. I was using my local newspaper help wanteds for job searches. I had never really surfed Craigslist-I'm an old fart & tend to stick to what I know.

Well there are at least 10X more listings there. Now it is my 1st search in the AM.

Of course there are more scam artists than ever in a week economy so just use common sense & there are safety tips on the site.

Just thought there may be some more job seekers out there who could use this tip.

1. That's how I found the part time job that's keeping me afloat.

You can also try the want ads in local newspapers as opposed to the metro paper. I got more good leads that way than any other way so far.

3. Beware!
I found a LOT of theses ads are phony.. I spent hours and hours filling out on line applications only to have it end up a portal to another job website (like Monster or Career Builder) I was already registered with.

I ended up getting a job by word of mouth thru contacts in my own circle of friends.

4. One always has to be wary of scams when dealing with Craigslist.
That is a very good point you raised.

Craigslist is a great tool, but it is often abused.
