Yahoo toolbar has kidnapped my Internet Explorer
and is holding it for ransom.

How do I kill off of this ugly criminal?

3. I think you just have to go to add/remove programs to kill it.
control panel, add remove programs, find yahoo and remove it or uninstall. It should disappear.

4. Stop using IE and start using Firefox
I made the switch about 2 weeks ago and the difference is ENORMOUS. Firefox is much faster and easier to use. You can import all your bookmarks very easily from IE to Firefox. That concern was one of the reasons I delayed switching. However, it simply asks you when installing the program if you want to import from IE.

7. We have a winnah!
I only use Internet Exploiter when I have NO choice (about 1% of the time).

You use Firefox with AdBlock Plus and you will have the fastest, least interrupted web surfing experience imaginable!

12. IE came with my laptop and I lazily assumed there was no difference
between it and Firefox. But then I started getting problems with IE and it was working really slow. So I tried the switch and was amazed by the difference.

10. I still get a message warning me about the Yahoo Toolbox
every time Mozilla upgrades. What's with the Yahoo Toolbox. Is it jealous or just a busybody?

5. A Guess: Right-Click On The Gray Area Next To The Menu Items At The Top
There should be a listing for the Yahoo toolbar with a check next to it. Click again to uncheck.

Good luck!

6. They started charging my Credit Card
I NEVER gave them my CC number, and they charged it $2.99 per month. I tried calling the number, but there is NEVER an answer. I have tried dozens of times. My credit card just expired, and I have a new one. It will be interesting to see if their virus finds the new one and starts charging that one too.
