Obama is playing the Repubs, finessing them with his slow hand and at the same time he is signaling us for support. He wants demonstrations demanding
big changes. He can't stand alone against all odds. When he sees our demonstrations he will act accordingly. Right now he sees nothing from us so he
is just doing what he can without being gridlocked.

2. Most of us were working VERY hard on Nov 2 because the election was Nov. 4 in 2008. |
|
It was Nov. 2 in 2004. Our job was REALLY just starting then... and it goes on.
Our elections are STILL NOT SAFE. Support the election integrity organization of your choice, especially the state and local ones -- or beware what can still happen for the worse in 2010, 2012, and beyond.
KEEP WORKING.
Voter-verified paper ballots and routine audits of all elections.

That is why I suffer for a living. Always more worried about the idea than the details. :)

3. ..and, oh by the way, the rightys are getting their second wind |
|
I had flights with a long layover in DFW last week. These are always occasions to hear lots of Republican and Fundie commiseration, as well as being forced to watch FAUX news.
1. Expect to see your local fundie church goers sporting shirts with phrases like "The Truth is above his pay grade." I guess that Rick Warren invocation didn't do much.
2. Expect to see continuing efforts to rehab dubya's tarnished name, and how he couldn't possibly have gone into a war with an exit strategy already in mind.
3. Maybe it's just me, but every time I see FAUX, I see Mittens patronizly explaining why what we've done today is bad for America. I guess his campaign is starting now.
4. I saw an analysis of the next bi-election. The Republicans see 2010 as an opportunity to do big things, especially in the House. They see lots of seats that our side barely won in districts that have traditinally voted GOP. Plus, the next census takes congressional districts out of states that voted Obama and puts them into states that went McSame. They are already starting the campaign against Harry Reid, and are excited about putting the Governator up against Barbara Boxer.

6. No doubt, we must continue to fight for the real democratic values |
|
The conservative assholes will not go lightly. They will continue to use the media to attack those values and every move Obama makes.
