Congrats to the Iraqis

I would like to take a moment here to congratulate the Iraqi people for their recent elections. It's not their fault that out former president started a war there and screwed everything up so very, very badly.

So, I say kudos to the average Iraqis who not only have survived that mess, but have shown the optimism it takes to actually participate in an election -- however flawed the process might have been.

There are a lot of Iraqi nationals living in this area. I always have been impressed by their willingness and ability to work hard and overcome steep odds. The run businesses in places where many other people would never get out of their cars. They work very long hours to make what is often a meager living, but with the knowledge that their kids will do better than them as a result. They are tough people.
