Dearest Friend/Supporter,

I really believe in the true peace message that I have been trying to spread since my son was killed in Iraq. It's a message that all killing is wrong, but especially state-sanctioned killing. I have given my all and more. At times my health and relationships suffered, but for sure any financial security I had has evaporated. I would do it all over again, though, because I think peace, prosperity for the average citizen, and justice are so vitally important.

This is not only a hard economy to be an activist in, but it is a hard political climate. Without going into detail about how the new president should be held as accountable, (Democrats rarely make electoral demands on their politicians), many people have folded up their tents and gone home to wait for Mr. Obama to save them.

After my political campaign to try for peace and accountability failed, I tried to have a voice of political dissent to challenge the entire corrupt system, not just ½ of it. Cindy Sheehan's Soapbox has aired five shows now and I am really proud of the fact that it's a true progressive, alternative voice to anything that is on the air right now. But we only have enough money to air one more show.

Today, I was forced to lay-off my two long time staffers (things are pretty bad when you have to lay-off your sister), but we will be okay, many people are losing their jobs. We have to let the office go that we wanted to keep for the next political campaign in 2010 has and I haven't had a "pay-day" in almost a month. I know things are tough all over. I hate to ask you for money once again.

I need about 5000.00 a month to keep the show on the air. Many of you have become sustaining members of the Soapbox and I am bringing in 2500.00/month that way. If you can become a sustaining member, then please do so. Anything will help.

You have supported me in the past for which I will always be grateful to you. But don't forget the Soapbox belongs to you, too and I make every effort I can to make it all of ours.

If the Soapbox is not needed and a waste of time and money, then so be it, but I am going to try to do everything I can to keep it on the air. If I have to let it go, then I will, and figure something else out.

because I'm so scared that I won't be a "true progressive". In the eyes of the self-proclaimed kewlkidz, of course.

It's too bad you folks have ruined the concept of "true progressive".

(I'm not in the kewlkidz club, so don't bother trying to kick me out.)
