I took vacation time to watch the election |

I requested to use my vacation time to watch this last election.
My immediate manager at work told me "I can't believe you actually are requesting time off for this. Are you serious? I'm not trying to offend you, but no one ever does this. Ok it's your time to waste"
Freaking football game comes along this past weekend. All freaking week before hand "WHO WANTS TIME OFF???? ONLY SOME PEOPLE CAN GET TIME OFF! WE NEED TO HAVE SOME KIND OF CONTEST TO DECIDE WHO GETS TIME OFF IT'S ONLY FAIR"
As a mid-level manager (at least one mid-level has to be there that day) I could give a damn, so I volunteered to work. Everyone else at my level of management thanked me for working like I was making the biggest sacrifice ever for them.
Just about says it all.

I could care less about football. I did miss school that day so I could watch the inauguration.

3. You should have acted like it was a hardship for you to do so. |
|
Take one for the team and all that. Sets you up to ask for a favor later.
