Sheriiff: If what Michael Phelps was smoking pot in my county,
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 09:30 AM by Subdivisions
he will be charged with that offense and prosecuted.

Oh my fuckin' god! This is one bizzare country we're living in. There's not enough pot smokers in jail now so he's on a rampage to charge Phelps! Goddammit I'm so sick of the bullshit!

3. Good luck proving it was pot
Phelps, who set a record with eight gold medals in the 2008 Summer Olympics, was photographed smoking a marijuana pipe at a November party in Columbia.

November, I am sure all the evidence has gone up in smoke by now!

22. That happened to me too several years ago in Denver
I cleared my windows and pulled into the street. It was cold, late, and snowing so hard my back window was covered within about two blocks. Cop pulls me over and writes a ticket for obstructed rear vision.

And since the cop made me pull over well out of the snow plow's path I was stuck. Had to hike to a phone and call a tow. The wife and weeks-old infant were in the car too. Any idea how long you have to wait for a tow on a cold snowy night in Denver? Fortunately a guy in a four-wheeler happened by and hauled me out.

And still there are people who wonder why other people don't like cops much.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread...

Phelps would offer the ossifer a signed picture or some other keepsake that he could sell on Ebay...charges dismissed.

Yeah, those pot smokers are sure a threat to national security...imagine what would happen if we were eaten out of Oreos?

13. It's funny when the tables are turned
Such as the case of a local police department who 'lost' $80,000 in seized marijuana...with time running out in the case, the police will now be given lie-detector tests to flush the culprit. The response is priceless!

------

Up to 40 people have taken, or may be called to take, the test. Several told The Sun they are nervous, not because they have something to hide, but because polygraph tests are not perfect.

"It's like in the old movies where they put you in a room with a big black box with a light bulb on it," said a lieutenant who retired Dec. 31. "They say it's just an additional tool in the investigative process, but even if it's 90 percent accurate, and that's being generous, who wants to be on the short end of a false positive?"

"How do you do this in good conscience?" said one officer, on condition of anonymity. "There were people on the force at the time who are gone now. How do you conduct an investigation?"

------

Good enough for the rest of us, but too flawed to be used on cops???

15. Phelps and his attorneys will have this Sheriff for lunch
This is just a stupid media ploy anyway from this idiot Sheriff. I'm sure he'll enjoy the media attention, but it won't accomplish anything aside from getting his ass handed to him in court. Who knows what was in the bong? It certainly can't be proven either way and Phelps has been smart not to put it completely out there as to what he was doing.

Besides that, the war on marijuana is pathetic and for once cracks are showing in the stand against it.

19. This guy sounds like a real effin' wanker.
Came across this on the internets.

Patrol cars weren't adequate in keeping order in the land, Sheriff Leon Lott decided. So off to the army he went, to ask for an armoured vehicle fitted out with a machine gun. "It shall be called The Peacemaker," he thought.

to kick a duck in the ass.

Sheriff Leon Lott is a douchebag - not even the U So. Carolina and Columbia SC police departments are interested in taking this case, according to the article.

27. This is another illustration of why many "civilians" think of cops as "fucking pigs".
We see the Sheriff bloviating and wasting time & money on this when there are undoubtedly unsolved murders, rapes, assaults & thefts in his jurisdiction.

If only the good Sheriff took police brutality & public corruption as seriously as he does pot smoking......

The people of his county should run him out of town on a rail.

28. You're right. Can't this damn, dirty, muddy, dumb..., um fucking pig find anything better to do?
What a freaking loser, choosing which "civilians" should be punished for their "crimes" over others.

There definitely needs to be a heirarchy of which crimes have to be solved before you can look at other crimes. Like first you have to get all the murders solved in your jurisdiction, then you have to solve all rapes, and so on and so on, so that those of us doing petty crimes can get away with them as long as people keep getting killed and raped.

"Fucking pig" is giving "Law Enforcement" a bad name if you ask me and all the other crimin...oops I mean "civilians" out there!
