Words I'd like to see here in the US this year....
"protestors storm"

Protestors storm Federal Parliament over climate action
A DAY of protest greeted federal Members of Parliament as they returned to Canberra for the start of the 2009 parliamentary year.

Up to 500 environmentalists were calling for more action on climate change.

And a small group of protesters interrupted the House of Representatives, attacking the Northern Territory intervention and scuffling with security guards who struggled to evict them.

Environmentalists tried to form a human circle around Parliament House, demanding the Government's plan to cut carbon emissions by 5-15 per cent by 2020 be bolstered. http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,25005033-953,00.html

"workers strike"

British workers strike as economic unease spreads
Reporting from London -- Hundreds of British workers walked off the job Monday, part of a rising tide of industrial unrest sweeping Europe as the continent's economic downturn worsens.

Employees at two nuclear power plants in northern England staged wildcat strikes in support of workers at an oil refinery who have been out in protest since the end of last week. The job action has tapped into a deep well of economic unease in this country as the British continue to grapple with failing banks, a moribund property market, a currency in free fall and a continuing series of layoffs and bankruptcies. http://www.latimes.com/business/careers/work/la-fg-britain-strikes3-2009feb03,0,1000487.story
